2006 China Coal Market Summit was held successfully in Beijing on Nov. 1-2, 2005. This Summit is the third one of its type held annually since 2004 by China Coal Transport and Distribution Association (known as CCTD). The coal market summit has become an annual key gathering for industry insiders and serves as the only authoritative summit on the Chinese coal market. It provides new insights into coal policies, market trends for the following year.
This Summit has attracted wide attention from the coal industry both at home and abroad and the media. There are about 600 participants who attended the Summit. International participants are from more than ten foreign countries, such as Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, United Kingdom and the United States.
Chinese officials and industry leaders attended the this Summit and delivered important speeches, including Mr. Wang Xianzheng, Vice Minister of the State Administration of Work Safety, Mr. Pu Hongjiu, Executive Vice President of China National Coal Association, Luo Bingsheng, Executive Vice President of China Iron & Steel Association, Mr. Wang Yonggan, Secretary General of China Electricity Council as well as leaders of CCTD. About 40 government officials, industry experts, business leaders made presentations at this Summit, addressing a wide range of hot topics ranging from coal policy, coal market strategy, coal transport, coal demand, coal imports and exports, coal mine safety, development of the coal industry, development trends of major coal types.
International guests discussed international coal market trends in a special session of the Summit, including Mr. Pat Markey, Director for Asia Pacific & Head of Front Office, globalCOAL, Mr. Du Donghai, Marketing Manager of Rio Tinto, Mr. Yoshiyuki Nunomura, General Manager of CoalinQ based in Japan, and Mr. Toby Costin, coal trader of Louis Dreyfus. |
